Dallas car wreck lawyer David Ragsdale was born on an Air Force base in Kansas in 1956. He grew up in Hattiesburg, Mississippi and graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a  Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. While in college, David was one of only a few students invited to enroll in the Honors College program. He also was selected to be in Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities.

Ragsdale received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Mississippi School of Law and after graduation immediately moved to Texas to begin his career as a personal injury lawyer.

David soon joined with Dan Street to form The Law Offices of Street & Ragsdale. David Ragsdale is admitted to practice law in all Texas Courts, the U. S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas and the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.

David also served for over 11 years as an attorney instructor at ABA-approved Southeastern Paralegal Institute in Dallas, where he taught Legal Systems, Evidence and Case Investigation. In 1989 David was appointed by the Denton County Commissioners Court to serve on the Denton County Child Protective Services Board. He was reappointed to a second term and also served as president of the organization. While serving on the Board, David successfully helped lead the effort to allow the revenue from jury fees to be allocated to benefit children in foster care in Denton County.

Ragsdale has also served as Chairman of the Administrative Council of his church and is a long-time Sunday School teacher. Currently, David is serving as an Assistant Scoutmaster of his son’s local Boy Scout troop. David and his wife have two school-age children and are very involved in their kids' school and athletic activities. They enjoy outdoor activities including fishing, hiking and camping in Colorado in the summers.
