Meet Our Staff Assistants

Our department heads and their primary areas of expertise are, as follows:

Robert Nichols is a Legal Assistant for the firm, serves as Administrative Assistant to attorney Dan Street, and is in charge of our Pre-Litigation Department. Robert meets with clients, initiates files, keeps client address and telephone records up-to-date, issues notice letters, files documents, and much more. He handles all the details necessary to get your claim started with the insurance company, including filing for Personal Injury Protection benefits (PIP). Robert obtains all medical records, bills, and affidavits necessary to “prove-up” damages in injury cases. He also assists the attorneys in obtaining settlement offers from the insurance companies and helps in determining when litigation is necessary. Yolanda Ahuyon is a litigation paralegal and is head of our Litigation Department. Yolanda works with the attorneys on every file in which a lawsuit has been filed and is current on all developments in your case once it reaches the lawsuit stage. She drafts petitions, motions, responses to summary judgments, and assists with all other pleadings necessary to prepare your case for trial. She also issues “discovery” to the opposing parties in lawsuits and meets with our clients when it is time to answer discovery sent to them. David Ragsdale, a partner in the firm, has been with Street & Ragsdale for over 17 years.  David has earned a well-deserved reputation as a tough negotiator, having settled many very difficult cases, including an aviation case that, to date, is the largest settlement ever negotiated by Street & Ragsdale.  David also tries cases when insurance companies refuse to offer a fair settlement.  He has also developed special expertise in sexual harassment cases.  David receives many referrals from medical doctors and chiropractors because of his skill in obtaining settlements that compensate his clients while also ensuring that the physicians’ bills are paid.  David is married and has two school-age children.

Dan Street founded the firm in 1982 and has successfully handled many thousands of personal injury and wrongful death cases.  Dan’s experience as a prosecutor in the D. A.’s office and later as a judge gave him lots of time in court and prepared him well to be a personal injury trial lawyer.  While Dan’s skill at negotiating settlements is well-known, he also has over 100 cases in litigation on any given day.  Dan believes in fighting for every last dollar and has literally settled “on the courthouse steps” many times.  Dan is married and has four children, all of whom are in medical school or college.  When not battling insurance companies, Dan likes to sail the Caribbean or cruise the back roads of Texas on his Harley.
